This page describes how SG Containers Review, operated by DeltaSpark, handles information. It reflects how the site is built today and says what the site does, not what a typical website might do.

What the site does not do

SG Containers Review is a static website. It has no user accounts, forms or comments, so we do not ask you to submit personal information on the site. The site itself sets no cookies. No advertising or tracking scripts are installed, and the site does not use third-party fonts or embedded content. The one script it loads is a self-hosted Umami analytics script for cookie-free, anonymous visit statistics, described below. Text is displayed in the fonts already installed on your device.

Diagram of what happens when you open a page: your browser requests the page from the hosting and content delivery provider, which handles standard request data and returns the static page. Not used: cookies set by us, advertising trackers, forms or accounts, and third-party fonts or embeds.
Opening a page involves your browser and the hosting provider only; the site adds no advertising trackers, forms or third-party resources.

What we collect

Through the site itself, we collect nothing directly. There are no forms, accounts or comments, so nowhere on the site can you type something that reaches us, and we do not build profiles of readers. We have no list of subscribers or registered users because the site has no way to create one.

What the hosting provider processes

The site is delivered through a hosting and content delivery provider. As with most websites, that provider processes standard request data to deliver pages and keep the service secure. This data includes:

  • your IP address;
  • your browser’s user agent, which identifies the browser and operating system;
  • the URL you requested; and
  • the time of the request.

A page cannot reach your browser without this processing, and it is also how a hosting provider detects and blocks abusive traffic. It takes place on the provider’s systems under the provider’s own terms and privacy practices. Apart from the cookie-free visit statistics described under Cookies and similar technologies, we do not add tracking of our own on top of this, and we do not use this data to identify individual readers. We have not published a retention period for the provider’s records, because the provider sets it, not this site.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site sets no cookies. It does not use advertising identifiers or tracking pixels. If your browser or a browser extension stores something while you read, that is under your control and is not set by this site. We set no cookies, so there is no cookie banner and no consent choice to make.

We use a self-hosted instance of Umami for anonymous visit statistics, such as which pages are read. It uses no cookies and does not build profiles of individual readers.

Third-party resources

Pages load from the site’s own host, plus the self-hosted Umami analytics script described above. We do not load fonts, videos, maps or social media widgets from other companies, so opening a page does not send your request to them. If this changes, for example because a guide needs an embedded resource, the change will be described here first.

Guides link to other websites, such as manufacturers and standards bodies, to identify the sources of statements. When you follow one of these links you leave this site, and the other site’s own policies and cookies apply. We do not control those sites and cannot say what they collect, so check their policies if that matters to you. Disclosures explains how we label commercial relationships with linked companies, and the Editorial Policy explains the sources behind our guides.

Email correspondence

If you email us, for example to ask for a correction, we use your message and address to read and respond to it and nothing more. We keep the correspondence only as long as needed to handle it. Please do not send information your question does not need, such as sensitive personal details. Our email address is on the Contact page, and that is the way to reach us.

Children

The site is a technical publication for people who buy, specify and operate packaging equipment, and it is not directed at children. It asks no one for personal information, children included. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal information by email, tell us through the Contact page and we will delete the correspondence.

Asking about your data

The site collects no personal information directly, so there is usually nothing for us to look up. If you have emailed us and want to know what we hold, or want it corrected or deleted, write to us through the Contact page from the same address you used. We will answer you and act on a reasonable request, unless we need to keep something to handle the matter you raised. Data the hosting provider processes is held by the provider, and we cannot see or alter its records.

Changes

We will update this policy before adding forms or any other feature that collects personal information. The same applies to commercial links, which are covered in Disclosures. We do not change this policy quietly: a change that alters what is collected will be made before the feature that causes it goes live.
