This page explains who operates SG Containers Review, which commercial relationships exist today, and how any future relationship would be labeled. Read it with the Editorial Policy, which sets the standards for sources and bylines.

Who operates this site

SG Containers Review is operated by DeltaSpark. The guides are published under the editorial byline described on the About page.

Current commercial relationships

At the time of publication, guides on this site contain no paid placements, sponsored content or referral links. Manufacturers appear in the guides only as cited sources, for example when a published specification is attributed to a manufacturer’s own documentation. Citing a source is not a commercial relationship and is not described as one.

What counts as a commercial relationship

We disclose a relationship when it could reasonably affect how a reader weighs a statement or a link. There are four kinds:

  • Common ownership or operation: the publication and the company or website being linked to are operated by DeltaSpark.
  • Payment for placement: a company has paid for an article, a mention, a link or a position on a page.
  • Referral arrangements: we may receive a fee, commission or other benefit if a reader contacts or buys from a company after following a link.
  • Supply relationships: a company supplies us with goods or services in a way that bears on how it is presented.

Receiving a manufacturer’s public documentation, or quoting it, does not belong on this list. Neither does an ordinary link to a standard, a regulator or an industry body that we cite as a source.

Diagram of how links and relationships are labeled: source citation, associated resource, sponsored placement and referral link, each shown with what it means and how it is labeled on the page.
Each kind of link carries its own label, so a reader can tell a cited source from a commercial arrangement.

How we would label relationships

If a commercial relationship applies to an article or link in the future, we will say so on that page, near the content it affects, and not only on this page. We would use the wording below, with the real names filled in and only the statements that apply. The table also shows the link attribute for each type.

Label type When it applies Wording on the page Link attribute
Source citation We cite a manufacturer’s or other organization’s document and have no commercial arrangement The source is named; no relationship is described Ordinary link
Associated resource operated by DeltaSpark The linked site or page is operated by DeltaSpark, as this publication is “Commercial relationship: This publication and [Brand] are operated by DeltaSpark. The linked page is an associated commercial resource, not an independent supplier endorsement.” Ordinary link, disclosed in the text; not a paid link because no payment is made
Sponsored placement A company paid for the article, mention or position “Sponsored content: [Sponsor] paid for this placement.” rel="sponsored"
Referral link We may receive a fee if a reader contacts or purchases through the page “Referral disclosure: We may receive a fee if you contact or purchase from [Supplier] through this page.” rel="sponsored"

Square brackets in the wording are placeholders for the real name. A statement that does not apply to a page is not published on it. Paid or sponsored links carry the rel="sponsored" attribute, and ordinary source citations are not paid links. The label would not sit only in a footer or on this page, because a reader judging a recommendation needs to see the relationship where the recommendation is made.

Before any commercial link is added to the site, this page and the Privacy page will be updated, because commercial links can change what happens when a reader follows them.

How manufacturers are mentioned

Guides mention manufacturers to attribute a published specification, to attribute a claim the company makes about its own product, or to describe a project another organization has reported. In each case the guide names the source of the statement. A quoted specification comes with the conditions it applies to, and a quoted claim is labeled as a claim. These mentions are not a ranking, a recommendation or a statement that a company supplied anything to us.

A reference to a company or product is not, by itself, an endorsement. A manufacturer’s absence from a guide does not mean we assessed it and found it unsuitable. It may simply not have published documentation that answers the question the guide addresses.

If you are preparing to approach suppliers, you can use the bottling equipment RFQ checklist, which is written for use with any supplier and does not favor one.

The domain’s earlier use

The domain name sgcontainers.com was previously used by a different business. The historical company reference is kept as a record of that earlier use. Historical references to the former company are not endorsements of this publication, and reporting about that company does not endorse this site. Nothing from the earlier business, such as awards, press coverage or customer relationships, is claimed as belonging to SG Containers Review or DeltaSpark.

No affiliation with Saint-Gobain

SG Containers Review is not affiliated with Saint-Gobain or the former Saint-Gobain Containers business, and does not represent either organization.

Reporting an undisclosed relationship

If you believe a page on this site links to, promotes or describes a company in a way that involves a relationship we have not disclosed, tell us through the Contact page. Identify the page, the company or link, and why you think a relationship exists. We will review it, then add a disclosure where one is missing or remove the content if it cannot be presented accurately. Substantive changes to a guide are recorded in a change note as described in the Editorial Policy.
